Transcatheter arterial chemoembolization and radiofrequency ablation in a joint venture with immunotherapy for hepatocellular carcinoma patients

چکیده

Successive current trials using immune response checkpoint blockade, the systemic therapy for progressive hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has shifted dramatically towards targeting tumor microenvironment (TME). Locoregional therapies (LRTs) like radiofrequency ablation (RFA)/rhizotomy, trans-arterial chemoembolization (TACE) and surgical resection in initial stages are critical. LRTs perform crucial task of modulating system surrounding tumor, which is great importance prevailing era developing immuno-oncology treatments their direct effect on cells. Significant efforts needed exploring mechanisms latest combinational approach to boost clinical advantage with tolerable side effects. The present review highlights HCC followed by immunotherapeutic approaches HCC. Next, we discussed concealed given combination immunotherapy utilization practice.

transcatheter arterial chemoembolization therapy for patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma

conclusions we showed that in treatment of patients with unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma, tace significantly improved the disease and the overall survival rate. also, we introduce the tumor size, serum alp level, and number of liver involved segments as prognostic factors of the procedure. finally, tace can be recommended as the initial treatment for unresectable hcc patients. background ...

Multimodality treatment with conventional transcatheter arterial chemoembolization and radiofrequency ablation for unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma.

BACKGROUND/AIMS To evaluate the efficacy of multimodality treatment consisting of conventional transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) and radiofrequency ablation (RFA) in patients with non-resectable and non-ablatable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). METHODS In this retrospective study, 85 consecutive patients with HCC (59 solitary, 29 multifocal HCC) received TACE followed by RFA bet...

Meta-analysis of transcatheter arterial chemoembolization plus radiofrequency ablation versus transcatheter arterial chemoembolization alone for hepatocellular carcinoma

This meta-analysis was conducted to compare transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) plus radiofrequency ablation (RFA) with TACE alone for hepatocellular carcinoma. We searched MEDLINE, EMBASE and CENTRAL for all relative randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and retrospective studies until October 31 2016. Tumor response, recurrence-free survival, overall survival and postoperative compl...

Transcatheter arterial chemoembolization combined with radiofrequency ablation for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma.

Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) has become an important treatment for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Nowadays, RFA is generally recognized as an alternative treatment to partial hepatectomy for early HCC, especially for patients with impaired liver function and when liver transplantation is not indicated, although some authors consider that RFA can be used as a first-line treatment for early HCC...

The Efficacy of Radiofrequency Ablation Combined with Transcatheter Arterial Chemoembolization for Primary Hepatocellular Carcinoma in a Cohort of 487 Patients

Although diagnostic methods, surgical techniques, and perioperative care have undergone significant advancement over the past decades, the prognosis of primary hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains discouraged because of the high postoperative recurrence rate and high cancer mortality. Radiofrequency ablation (RFA) combined with transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) is a recently dev...
